I recntly spent some time knocking on doors on Chartley, Kegworth, Hillside Roads and Gresley Grove to see waht kinds of things are concerning local residents The main issues that came up were:

• Street cleansing – there was dissatisfaction with the standard and frequency the roads are cleaned. I have asked for this to be improved. I have also asked for a bin to be placed on the corner with Slade Road and for action to be taken on flytipping
• State of the grass verges – some of these Are Very overgrown with weeds and I have asked for these to be smartened up.
• The pavements on Hillside Road need to be resurfaced, and I have requested these be done as a priority
• The railway embankment behind the houses on Chartley Road needs clearing and trees need cutting back. I have asked Network Rail to take action.
• Crime – there was a lot of concern about crime and antisocial behaviour on these road and I have asked the police to increase their patrols, particularly now that the evenings are darker.
