On Wednesday popular local Cllrs for Erdington Ward Cllrs Robert Alden and Gareth Moore took part in the official opening of the new play area. Local youth workers and support teams were on hand along with lots of local children who all got to enjoy the new equipment. Cllr Robert Alden, who with Cllr Moore played football with some of the children at the event, said "it was wonderful to see so many children enjoying all the activities and new equipment which some of them had helped design".

Cllr Gareth Moore added "the equipment is usable by anybody as it is all DDA compliant; this is the first play area in the city like that. Thank you to all the children who worked so hard on delivering this project and securing lottery money towards its cost".
