Recently Central Square owners New River Retail held a consultation on their possible plans to convert the whole of Central Square into a large super store. Their plans largely depend on a court case against Sainsbury's and their plans for the Colliers site. If they go ahead they will hold a public consultation they have said.

Gareth said "it is vital that residents issues are listened to by Central Square and their partners, so any development that may go ahead does not effect them".
